Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

(Ayah 37,36) ➊ { جَزَآءً مِّنْ رَّبِّكَ عَطَآءً حِسَابًا … :} All of this is the recompense for their deeds from their Lord. When the Lord Himself is the One Who gives the recompense, then how great will that recompense be! Moreover, it is not just an equal recompense, but a reward from ten times up to seven hundred times, and even more, an unlimited reward will be granted. However, the recompense for a sin will be only as much as the sin itself.

{ عَطَآءً حِسَابًا :} This has two meanings: the first is that the reward will be according to account, meaning that not even the smallest of their deeds will be left unaccounted for. The second meaning is "sufficient reward." Just as {’’حَسْبِيَ اللّٰهُ ‘‘} means "Allah is sufficient for me," that is, the reward will be so much that there will be no desire for more.

{لَا يَمْلِكُوْنَ مِنْهُ خِطَابًا:} That is, despite the utmost grace and mercy, on the Day of Resurrection, the majesty of Allah will be such that no one will be able to utter a word before Him. (Ashraf al-Hawashi)
