هَـٰذَا يَوْمُ لَا يَنطِقُونَ ﴿35﴾
That will be a Day when they shall not speak (during some part of it),

(Ayah 35 to 37) {هٰذَا يَوْمُ لَا يَنْطِقُوْنَ … :} Here it is stated that the deniers will neither speak on the Day of Resurrection nor will they be permitted to offer excuses, whereas in other places in the Qur'an it is mentioned that they will present their excuses. The reality is that the Day of Resurrection is a long day of fifty thousand years; at the occurrence of Resurrection, they will not be able to speak out of awe, then in order to save themselves, they will begin to present false excuses, will outright deny being guilty, and will swear repeatedly that they never committed shirk, rather they will demand that if there is any evidence against them, it should be presented. When their records of deeds are presented, the testimonies of those who conveyed the truth to them are brought forth, and their mouths are sealed and the testimony of their own limbs is presented, then their speaking will cease and now they will not be permitted to fabricate excuses unnecessarily.

35. 1. The Day of Resurrection in which there will be various states of the disbelievers. There will be a time when they will lie even there, then Allah will set a seal upon their mouths and their hands and feet will bear witness against them. Then, when they are being taken towards Hell, at that moment, in a state of anxiety and distress, their tongues will also become speechless. Some say that they will speak, but they will have no argument.
