Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

(Ayah 14) {وَ دَانِيَةً عَلَيْهِمْ ظِلٰلُهَا … : ’’ دَانِيَةً ‘‘ ’’دَنَا يَدْنُوْ‘‘} is an active participle from (ن), meaning near. {’’ ذُلِّلَتْ ‘‘} will be subjected, will be lowered. {’’ تَذْلِيْلًا ‘‘} is for emphasis, meaning greatly lowered. {’’قُطُوْفٌ‘‘ ’’قِطْفٌ‘‘} is the plural, meaning cluster, picked fruit, that is, the shades of the trees of Paradise will be extremely dense and lowered, and the clusters of its fruits will be subjected to the people of Paradise and within their reach, so that whether standing, sitting, or lying down, they will be able to pick them as they wish. Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: [ إِنَّ فِي الْجَنَّةِ لَشَجَرَةً يَّسِيْرُ الرَّاكِبُ فِيْ ظِلِّهَا مِائَةَ عَامٍ لاَ يَقْطَعُهَا ] [ بخاري، بدء الخلق، باب ما جاء في صفۃ الجنۃ… : ۳۲۵۱ ] "In Paradise, there is a tree under whose shade a rider could travel for a hundred years but would not be able to cross it."

Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. This tafsir explains the meanings of the Quran in accordance with the methodology of the Salaf (early righteous generations), relying on authentic sources and straightforward language. Due to its reliability and adherence to sound Islamic scholarship, the Saudi government publishes and distributes this tafsir among the Hujjaj (pilgrims) visiting the Haramain. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

14. 1. Although there will not be the heat of the sun there, nevertheless the shade of the trees will be spread over them, or it means that their branches will be near them. And the fruits of the trees, like an obedient servant awaiting command, whenever a person desires to eat, they will bend down and come so close that even while sitting or lying down, he can pick them. (Ibn Kathir)

Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

14. The shades (of Paradise's trees) will be lowered over them, and their fruit clusters will be made fully [17] accessible to them.

[17] What kind of light there will be in Paradise and from what source, Allah knows best. In any case, it appears that there will also be shade there, and those shades will be pleasant, and the clusters of fruit from the trees of Paradise will be brought so close to the people of Paradise that whenever they wish, they can use them as they please.
