Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

15. Even though he may offer many excuses [11].

[11] That is, this written record of deeds will be placed before the human being only so that the requirements of justice may be fulfilled. Otherwise, the reality is that a person is fully aware of the good or bad deeds he has done. And the excuses he invents are merely because a person is absolutely unwilling to admit his own fault. He can make up dozens of things, create excuses, but admitting his fault wounds his ego, and he considers it tantamount to death. This is his condition in the world as well, and in the Hereafter too, some habitual criminals will try to make such excuses.
