Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

(Ayah 48) ➊ {فَمَا تَنْفَعُهُمْ شَفَاعَةُ الشّٰفِعِيْنَ:} Because there will be no permission for intercession in favor of the disbelievers, and even if someone does intercede, it will not be accepted for the disbeliever, just as Ibrahim (peace be upon him) will intercede for his father, but it will not be accepted. Remember that the meaning of the intercession of the intercessors not benefiting the disbelievers is that they will not be able to come out of Hell due to this intercession; however, there can be a benefit of reduction in punishment, as the punishment of Abu Talib will be reduced due to the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him).
➋ From this verse, it is understood that those who are believing monotheists but enter Hell due to their sins, intercession will benefit them. With Allah’s permission, the Prophets, martyrs, and righteous will intercede for them, and by their intercession, they will come out of Hell, as has been mentioned in Sahih ahadith.

Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. 48. 1. That is, whoever possesses the aforementioned attributes, no intercession will benefit him, because due to disbelief, there will be no place for intercession at all. Intercession will only be beneficial for those who, due to faith, will be worthy of intercession.
