Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim — Hafiz Abdus Salam Bin Muhammad Bhutvi
Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
(Ayah 11) ➊ {ذَرْنِيْوَمَنْخَلَقْتُوَحِيْدًا:} The foremost in denying the invitation of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) were the great chiefs of Makkah, whom Allah Almighty had granted every kind of prosperity and worldly blessings, but instead of expressing gratitude to Allah Almighty for their wealth, children, prestige, and power, they denied His Messenger (peace be upon him) and, instead of believing in His Book, declared it to be magic and human speech. Regarding these people, Allah Almighty said that you leave their matter to Me; I know and they know; I Myself will deal with them.
Although most commentators have taken a particular person, Walid bin Mughirah, to be meant in these verses, in {’’ وَمَنْخَلَقْتُوَحِيْدًا ‘‘} the word {’’ مَنْ ‘‘}, despite being singular, is general in meaning, and the wealth, property, children, and power mentioned in the verse were not possessed by Walid alone, nor was he the only one who declared the Qur’an to be magic and human speech; rather, this was the condition of most of the arrogant deniers of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him). Therefore, in these verses, all of them are being warned. Yes, it is correct that these verses also apply to Walid bin Mughirah and he is also among those intended by these verses, and the fact that these verses were revealed concerning him also means this, but he alone is not the subject of these verses; rather, all arrogant people with these qualities are meant, whether they live in Makkah or in any other part of the world.
➋ { ’’ خَلَقْتُوَحِيْدًا ‘‘} can have two meanings: one is that I created him in such a state that he was alone, neither did he have sons to serve him nor any wealth or possessions. Every human comes alone from his mother’s womb; he brings no wealth, children, army, or provisions with him, as He said: « وَلَقَدْجِئْتُمُوْنَافُرَادٰىكَمَاخَلَقْنٰكُمْاَوَّلَمَرَّةٍ»[ الأنعام : ۹۴ ] “And indeed you have come to Us alone, just as We created you the first time.” The second is that I alone created him and granted him all this; in creating him or granting him this wealth and children, no one else was My partner.

11. Leave Me alone with the one whom I created alone [8].
[8] There can be two meanings: one is that when he was born, he was born completely empty-handed. He had no wealth, status, or army—nothing at all. All this he received later in this world. The second meaning is that he was his father's only son. You should pay no attention whatsoever to this person's opposition and leave his matter to Me.
