Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

(Ayah 13,12) {اِنَّ لَدَيْنَاۤ اَنْكَالًا … : ’’ اَنْكَالًا ‘‘ نِكْلٌ‘‘} (with the kasrah of noon) is the plural of 'Niklun', it refers to the chain on the animal’s foot and the iron part of the bridle. {’’ جَحِيْمًا ‘‘ ’’جَحْمَةٌ‘‘} (the fierce blazing of fire) is derived from this. (Raghib) {’’ ذَا غُصَّةٍ ‘‘} which gets stuck in the throat, neither can it be swallowed nor expelled.

Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Indeed, with Us are shackles [13] and a blazing Fire.

These well-off people who are at the forefront of enmity and opposition to you ﷺ — We have much with Us to punish them. Heavy chains, so burdensome that they will not be able to move. They will be thrown into a blazing fire; their food will be the tree of Thohar, which they will try to eat out of the compulsion of hunger, but it will get stuck in their throats and will go down only with great difficulty. Besides this, they will also receive a painful punishment.
