Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

(Ayah 3) {وَ اَنَّهٗ تَعٰلٰى جَدُّ رَبِّنَا …:} "And that the majesty of our Lord is very exalted"—that is, we have also come to believe that the majesty of our Lord is very exalted. These were those jinn who were Trinitarian Christians, or followed a religion in which Allah Almighty was believed to have a wife and children. Now they have come to know that Allah Almighty's majesty is far above having a wife or children. To believe in a wife does not make Him exalted, but rather makes Him needy, because a husband is in need of his wife due to desire, and children are also the result of that same desire which compels him to go to his wife, so then what remains of exalted majesty? (Tabari)

Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. This tafsir explains the meanings of the Quran in accordance with the methodology of the Salaf (early righteous generations), relying on authentic sources and straightforward language. Due to its reliability and adherence to sound Islamic scholarship, the Saudi government publishes and distributes this tafsir among the Hujjaj (pilgrims) visiting the Haramain. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

3. 1. That is, our Lord is far above having a child or a wife. Thus, the jinn clarified the error of those polytheists who attributed a wife or child to Allah; they declared the Lord free from both of these weaknesses.

Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

And exalted is the Majesty of our Lord. He has not taken a wife or a son.

The Jinn Who Listened to the Quran Preaching to Their Own People:

From verse 2 and 3, it is understood that on this occasion, the jinn who listened to the Quran were polytheists, and among them were some who were also influenced by the Christian doctrine of the Trinity. Upon hearing the statement of the Quran, they realized that Allah is free from the need for a wife or children, and that holding such a belief about Him is a severely misguided doctrine. Therefore, we repent from such beliefs and thoughts and believe in Allah alone.
