Except to a Messenger (from mankind) whom He has chosen (He informs him of unseen as much as He likes), and then He makes a band of watching guards (angels) to march before him and behind him.

(Ayah 27) {اِلَّامَنِارْتَضٰىمِنْرَّسُوْلٍ …:} "He does not inform anyone of His unseen," but if He wishes to inform about any matter of the unseen, He does not tell everyone; rather, He only tells the one whom He chooses as a Messenger. The meaning of {’’ رَسُوْلٍ ‘‘} is the person who is sent to deliver a message, that is, He does not tell the matter of the unseen to make someone the Knower of the unseen, but to convey it to the people. When Allah Almighty informs this chosen Messenger of any matter of the unseen, He surrounds him with a strong guard of shooting stars and angels, so that the devils cannot insert anything of their own into this revelation, nor can they find out beforehand and inform the soothsayers, but the divine word reaches the Messenger in a protected manner, and through the Messenger, it reaches the people.

27. 1. That is, at the time of the revelation of wahi, there are angels in front of and behind the Prophet, and they do not allow the devils and jinn to listen to the matters of wahi.

27. Except for a messenger whom He chooses (to inform of the unseen). Then He appoints guards before and behind him [24].
[24] Allah’s practice regarding the knowledge of the unseen is that He does not inform anyone about when the Day of Resurrection will come. However, He does inform some messengers about certain matters of the unseen, and these are matters whose disclosure is necessary for the religion. For example, that the Resurrection will certainly come; that a time will come when the sun will rise from the west; or that the Resurrection will be established only upon the worst of people; or that on the Day of Judgment, Allah will take account from people, and the conditions of Paradise and Hell. All these things pertain to the unseen, which Allah has conveyed to the Messenger through revelation. Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ conveyed them to the Ummah. The rule regarding this is that when Allah sends such revelation through Jibreel, He also sends guardians and protectors before and after it, so that this revelation reaches the Messenger safely, completely, and without any alteration.
