Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim — Hafiz Abdus Salam Bin Muhammad Bhutvi
Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
(Ayah 24) {حَتّٰۤىاِذَارَاَوْامَايُوْعَدُوْنَ … :} That is, the disbelievers boast about the abundance of their numbers and the strength of their supporters, and they taunt the Muslims for their small numbers and weakness, so let them do so; all this is only for a short time, until when they see with their own eyes that thing which they are promised, then at that time they will know who is weaker in supporters and fewer in number. The thing which they are promised refers to the dominance of Islam and the defeat of the disbelievers, as they saw with their own eyes at Badr, Khandaq, the conquest of Makkah, and Hunayn; it also refers to fear and famine being imposed upon the disbelievers, and the angels striking their faces and backs at the time of death, the punishment of the grave, the terrors of the Day of Judgment, and the fire of Hell. As they witness all these things step by step, the reality of the abundance of their numbers and the strength of their supporters will become clear to them.
Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan — Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf
Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. This tafsir explains the meanings of the Quran in accordance with the methodology of the Salaf (early righteous generations), relying on authentic sources and straightforward language. Due to its reliability and adherence to sound Islamic scholarship, the Saudi government publishes and distributes this tafsir among the Hujjaj (pilgrims) visiting the Haramain. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
24. 1. Or it means that these people will persist in their enmity towards the Prophet ﷺ and the believers and will remain obstinate in their disbelief, until they see the punishment that has been promised to them, either in this world or in the Hereafter.
24. 2. That is, at that time they will realize whether the helper of the believers is weak or the helper of the polytheists. Whether the people of Tawheed are fewer in number or the worshippers of others besides Allah. The meaning is that then the polytheists will have no helper at all, and in comparison to the countless armies of Allah, the number of these polytheists will be like salt in flour.
Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran — Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani
Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
24. (These people will not desist from their ways) until they see (the punishment) which they are promised. Then soon they will know whose helpers are weaker and fewer in number [22].
[22] These polytheists who are crowding together today think that these Muslims have no real standing. They believe that by gathering against them, they can easily overawe them. But soon a time will come when they will know which party is fewer in number and has fewer helpers. This time could be the day of the conquest of Makkah, and as for the Day of Resurrection, that is absolutely certain.
