Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim — Hafiz Abdus Salam Bin Muhammad Bhutvi
Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
(Ayah 22) {وَمَكَرُوْامَكْرًاكُبَّارًا : ’’ كُبَّارًا ‘‘} (with the shaddah on the letter baa) is more emphatic than {’’كُبَارٌ‘‘} (without the shaddah on the letter baa), and in {’’كُبَارٌ‘‘} there is more emphasis than in {’’كَبِيْرٌ‘‘}, meaning they devised extremely great secret schemes. {’’ مَكْرًا ‘‘} is a generic term; it does not refer to just one scheme. These are the same kinds of tactics that the chiefs and wealthy people of any nation always use against the people of truth for the sake of their own power. Several of these tactics are mentioned in the Quran, for example: if Nuh (peace be upon him) were a prophet of Allah, he would have been an angel; he is just a human like us. His followers are lowly people; if he were a messenger, he would have treasures, prominent people would be with him, he would know the unseen, he just wants leadership, he is insane, etc. For further details, see the stories of Nuh (peace be upon him) in Surah Al-A'raf, Surah Hud, and Surah Al-Mu’minun, etc. The same tactics were used against our Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) as well.
Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan — Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf
Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. This tafsir explains the meanings of the Quran in accordance with the methodology of the Salaf (early righteous generations), relying on authentic sources and straightforward language. Due to its reliability and adherence to sound Islamic scholarship, the Saudi government publishes and distributes this tafsir among the Hujjaj (pilgrims) visiting the Haramain. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
22. 1. What was this deception or trickery? Some say it was their incitement of certain people to kill Prophet Nuh (علیہ السلام). Some say it was the deception of the soul due to wealth and children that they fell prey to. Some even said that if they were not upon the truth, why would they have these blessings? According to some, their disbelief itself was a great deception.
Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran — Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani
Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
And they have devised great [13] plots.
[13] These chiefs always presented the personality of Noah (علیہ السلام) to their followers in a negative manner and kept convincing them that this person is only going through all this trouble to establish his own greatness. And he says such improbable things that, at least according to our understanding, cannot be accepted. How is it possible that a single God alone is running the entire system of the universe? That He hears everyone's pleas directly, and then also responds to them? Every king needs countless nobles, ministers, subordinates, and workers to run the affairs of his kingdom. And only through them can a plea reach the king. Then how can we, at his word, deny our deities? If there were any weight in his words, then people of intellect and nobility would have been his companions. Instead, the few companions he does have are foolish and lowly people. And they collectively propagated these things in such a way, and the whole nation was so influenced by this propaganda, that whenever someone was about to die, he would strongly advise his children not to get caught in the trap of this old Noah. He is a madman who wants us to abandon the religion of our forefathers.
