Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). 27. And those who fear the punishment of their Lord [17].

[17] By affirming the Day of Recompense, it is meant that they have complete faith in being held accountable for their deeds before Allah. As a result of this affirmation, they strive to avoid every action for which Allah has warned of punishment. And they are always fearful that their shortcomings may outweigh their good deeds, making them deserving of Allah’s punishment.
