Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim — Hafiz Abdus Salam Bin Muhammad Bhutvi
Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
(Ayah 19 to 21) {اِنَّالْاِنْسَانَخُلِقَهَلُوْعًا … :} That is, this weakness has been placed in man by birth that he is faint-hearted, impatient. When afflicted with hardship, he becomes very anxious, and when he receives wealth or any other blessing, he withholds it and does not give it to those who deserve it. However, this weakness is not such that man cannot overcome it. The people of faith neither panic in adversity nor boast in prosperity. It is narrated from Suhaib (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: [ عَجَبًالِأَمْرِالْمُؤْمِنِإِنَّأَمْرَهُكُلَّهُخَيْرٌوَلَيْسَذَاكَلِأَحَدٍإِلَّالِلْمُؤْمِنِإِنْأَصَابَتْهُسَرَّاءُشَكَرَفَكَانَخَيْرًالَهُوَإِنْأَصَابَتْهُضَرَّاءُصَبَرَفَكَانَخَيْرًالَهُ ][ مسلم، الزھد، باب المؤمن أمرہ کلہ خیر : ۲۹۹۹ ] "The affair of the believer is amazing, for all his matters are good for him, and this is for no one except the believer: if happiness reaches him, he is grateful, so it is good for him; and if hardship befalls him, he is patient, so that is also good for him." But for this, effort certainly has to be made. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: [ وَمَنْيَّسْتَعِفَّيُعِفَّهُاللّٰهُوَمَنْيَّسْتَغْنِيُغْنِهِاللّٰهُوَمَنْيَّتَصْبِرْيُصَبِّرْهُاللّٰهُ ][ مسلم، الزکاۃ، باب فضل العفف والصبر… : ۱۰۵۳ ] "Whoever refrains from asking, Allah will save him; whoever seeks self-sufficiency from Allah, Allah will make him self-sufficient; and whoever strives to be patient, Allah will make him patient."

19. 1. A person who is extremely greedy and very anxious is called "Halū‘". In the translation, this has been expressed as "a person with a weak heart" because such a person is both miserly and greedy, and is one who weeps and laments excessively.

19. Indeed, man was created anxious [12].
[12] The Literal Meaning of ﴿هلوعا﴾:
﴿هَلُوْعًا﴾ means restless, unstable, not remaining in one state, one who is immediately affected by changing circumstances. That is, man is naturally created like this. This condition is found in an ordinary worldly person or the majority of people. And those who believe and reform themselves, their hearts no longer remain in this state; instead, patience, tranquility, and stability are produced in their hearts.
