Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

(Ayah 10 to 14) {وَ لَا يَسْـَٔلُ حَمِيْمٌ حَمِيْمًا … :} No friend will ask about any friend, not because he will not be visible, but {’’ يُبَصَّرُوْنَهُمْ ‘‘} every person will be shown his dear friends and they will be in front of his eyes. The reason for not asking will be that everyone will be concerned about himself; the criminal, for whom he used to sacrifice his life in the world, on that day would prefer to hand over all of them, in fact, all the people of the world, to the divine punishment to save his own life. At this point, in the order of relatives, those are mentioned first who are most beloved, that is, sons, wife, brother, family, and in Surah Abasa (34 to 36) it is the opposite. {’’ فَصِيْلَتِهِ ‘‘} Family, clan, because it is separate from the tribe. {’’ تُـْٔوِيْهِ ‘‘ ’’اٰوٰي يُؤْوِيْ‘‘} (verbs) To give place, to give refuge.
