Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

(Ayah 60){ قَالَ الْمَلَاُ مِنْ قَوْمِهٖۤ ……:} In clear misguidance because he wants to pull us away from our ancestral religion towards a new religion (Tawheed). In the stories of the Prophets (peace be upon them), the Qur’an has prominently stated that among those who opposed the call to Tawheed, the class of the elite has always been at the forefront, because these people are the first target of a revolutionary call.

Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. This tafsir explains the meanings of the Quran in accordance with the methodology of the Salaf (early righteous generations), relying on authentic sources and straightforward language. Due to its reliability and adherence to sound Islamic scholarship, the Saudi government publishes and distributes this tafsir among the Hujjaj (pilgrims) visiting the Haramain. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

60. 1. Shirk so paralyzes human intellect that a person sees guidance as misguidance and misguidance as guidance. Guidance and misguidance become theoretical. Thus, the same state of heart occurred with the people of Nuh; to them, Hazrat Nuh (AS), who was inviting his people towards the oneness of Allah, appeared—God forbid—as misguided. That which was bad, gradually became good. The conscience of nations turns into slavery.

Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

The chiefs [64] of his people said: "Indeed, we see you in clear error."

Reasons for the Opposition of the Chiefs:

In the opposition to the call of the Prophets (peace be upon them), it is usually the chiefs of the nation who take the lead. The main reason for this is that if they accept the Prophet's call, they would have to relinquish the positions or status they hold in society. Furthermore, when the Prophet proclaims that besides Allah, there is no one who can arrange your affairs, fulfill your needs, or remove your difficulties, this in itself becomes an insult to their idols, and along with that, it is also an insult to their own intellects and the intellects of their forefathers. Therefore, these chief-type people immediately flare up at the call of the Prophets (peace be upon them), and this is the very group about whom Allah Almighty has said: ﴿لَا يَخْرُجُ اِلَّا نَكِدًا﴾. In this way, their inner wickedness becomes fully exposed. Not only do these people themselves not accept the call, but they also prevent the common people from this path and impose various restrictions on accepting the call. And the argument that such people gave to Sayyiduna Nuh (peace be upon him) was that leaving the religion of their forefathers and adopting another religion is the greatest misguidance possible. Therefore, it is not us, but you, who are in clear error.
