Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim — Hafiz Abdus Salam Bin Muhammad Bhutvi
Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
(Ayah 45) ➊ { الَّذِيْنَيَصُدُّوْنَعَنْسَبِيْلِاللّٰهِ ……:} That is, they seek crookedness in the way of Allah (Islam) and, by creating doubts and suspicions in it, make people averse to it, or by threatening people, prevent them from the path of truth, and say that this path is not the straight path; the correct path is the one we are following.
➋ { وَهُمْبِالْاٰخِرَةِكٰفِرُوْنَ:} That is, the curse is upon those wrongdoers who possess these three qualities: they prevent others from the way of Allah, they seek crookedness in the way of Allah, and they deny the Hereafter. Otherwise, not every transgressor is cursed. Shah Abdul Qadir (may Allah have mercy on him) says that the Exalted Truth has called most sins injustice (wrongdoing) in the Noble Qur’an, but has not cursed except such people. (Mowdih) The meaning is that they recklessly commit every kind of evil word and deed because they are deniers of the Hereafter.
Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan — Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf

This tafsir explains the meanings of the Quran in accordance with the methodology of the Salaf (early righteous generations), relying on authentic sources and straightforward language. Due to its reliability and adherence to sound Islamic scholarship, the Saudi government publishes and distributes this tafsir among the Hujjaj (pilgrims) visiting the Haramain. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
45. Those who used to hinder people from the path of Allah and sought to make it crooked, and were deniers of the Hereafter [44].
[44] Muslims Who Obstruct the Path of Islam:
In this verse, another category of wrongdoers is mentioned, and such people are found in every community; for example, among Muslims as well, there are those who claim to be Muslims but say that the limits set by Islam are barbaric punishments. In today's era, it is impossible to implement them. Islam, by commanding women to stay in their homes, has made them prisoners. The era of the permissibility of slave girls and slaves has passed. Islam, in its own time, was a living movement, but today this system has become outdated and cannot keep up with the times. They import their political system from others and take their economic system from others as well, and say that in today's era, our economy cannot function without interest. All these statements are about obstructing the path of Islam and creating deviation in its straight path, and the reality is that such people do not believe in the Hereafter and in accountability before Allah, otherwise how could they say such things?
