Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

(Ayah 124,123) ➊ {قَالَ فِرْعَوْنُ اٰمَنْتُمْ بِهٖ …:} That is, before my permission, you had no right to declare the superiority and success of Moses. Every arrogant and rebellious person wants people to agree with him, accept whatever he says, and promote and publicize only him. Similarly, it is the rule of every arrogant and rebellious ruler in the world that when he is defeated in the field of argument, he resorts to threats of prison, hanging, crucifixion, and murder, and makes such laws by which someone can be punished without proving his crime. Thus, Pharaoh did the same; when he was defeated in the field of argument, he resorted to threats of punishment and immediately leveled two accusations before the public: first, that this is a conspiracy between the magicians and Moses, and second, that through this conspiracy, these people want to expel the Egyptians from the country and seize power. Therefore, first he threatened by saying {’’ فَسَوْفَ تَعْلَمُوْنَ ‘‘} (So you will soon know), then he also explained this threat.

{ثُمَّ لَاُصَلِّبَنَّكُمْ اَجْمَعِيْنَ:} That is, I will have your hands cut off from one side and your feet from the other side, and then crucify you. Generally, people consider crucifixion and hanging to be the same thing, whereas in hanging, a rope is put around the neck and the person is strangled to death, while in crucifixion, a tall pole is erected and a crossbar is tied on top of it, then the accused is lifted up and his arms are tied to the crossbar, while the body is tied to the tall pole. There, he dies exposed to the sun, cold, pecked by birds, and wounded by the arrows or spears of enemies. That is why it is said in Surah Ta-Ha (7): "I will surely crucify you on the trunks of palm trees in the worst manner." This is a much more terrifying punishment than hanging.

Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. This tafsir explains the meanings of the Quran in accordance with the methodology of the Salaf (early righteous generations), relying on authentic sources and straightforward language. Due to its reliability and adherence to sound Islamic scholarship, the Saudi government publishes and distributes this tafsir among the Hujjaj (pilgrims) visiting the Haramain. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

123. 1. What happened was very astonishing and surprising for Pharaoh, so he could not think of anything else, and he just said that all of you are in collusion with each other and the purpose of this is to end our rule. Well, you will soon know its outcome.
