(Ayah 104){ وَقَالَمُوْسٰىيٰفِرْعَوْنُاِنِّيْرَسُوْلٌ … :} "Pharaoh" was the title of every king of Egypt, just as the king of Rome was called Caesar and the king of Persia was called Kisra. Musa (peace be upon him) addressed him with his honorable title and in a very gentle manner, as Allah had instructed them at the time of sending them. See Surah Ta-Ha (44). The name of this Pharaoh is said to be Menephtah bin Ramses II or Walid bin Rayyan, but this is not established from any reliable source.

104. Moses said to Pharaoh [110], "Indeed, I am a messenger from the Lord of all the worlds."
[110] The Reality of the Title "Pharaoh" and the Vastness of Pharaoh's Kingdom:
In that era, every king of Egypt used to bear the title "Pharaoh," while their actual names were different. The concept behind the title "Pharaoh" was that the spirit of the greatest deity, the sun, would incarnate in the body of the king; in this sense, the king was considered the physical manifestation of the great deity or Mahadev on earth. For this reason, all the Pharaohs claimed divinity on earth. Musa (peace be upon him) encountered two Pharaohs in his lifetime: one was the Pharaoh who raised Sayyiduna Musa (peace be upon him), and his name was Ramses. When Musa (peace be upon him) fled from Egypt and spent ten years under the tutelage of Sayyiduna Shu'ayb (peace be upon him), during that period, this Pharaoh had died and his son had ascended the throne. Determining the exact period of their reign is very difficult because there is much disagreement in historical records; however, this period could be between twelve hundred and fifty and fifteen hundred years before Christ. The Pharaoh before whom Sayyiduna Musa (peace be upon him) presented his miracles was the son of that same Ramses, whose kingdom was very vast, stretching from Syria to Libya and from the coasts of the Mediterranean Sea to Abyssinia. This Pharaoh was not only the king of this vast region but was also considered a deity.
