Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim — Hafiz Abdus Salam Bin Muhammad Bhutvi
Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

39. And also of those whom you do not [22] see.
[22] What are the things that the disbelievers could see and those they could not see?
You are seeing this: your companion (the Messenger of Allah ﷺ) is a man of pure character. And you are witnesses to the fact that he has never lied in his entire life. He is a truthful and trustworthy man. He does not know how to read or write. He has no teacher either. Then, at the age of forty, he suddenly began to present such miraculous speech that it astonished all of you. He said that this is the word of Allah. And Allah has sent it down to me through an angel, Jibreel, and I am His Messenger. When you denied, he challenged you that if this is not the word of Allah, then bring speech like it, and call upon all your writers, poets, and scholars to help you. But you were unable to respond to it. Then you also see that whatever speech he presents, he is the first to act upon it himself, and then his companions also comply with those commands, through which their morals are being reformed. They are enduring your taunts, insults, and persecutions with a smiling face, and they do not even respond to your actions with their tongues. These are the things that you are seeing. And what you are not seeing is that neither do you see Allah, nor His angels, who have control over all apparent and hidden means. Nor do you see that angel Jibreel, who brings the Quran down upon the heart of your companion. Nor can you see how Allah Almighty is helping the Muslims from the unseen, and nor can you see by which means your roots are about to be cut off.
