Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
{لَايَاْكُلُهٗۤاِلَّاالْخَاطِـُٔوْنَ : ’’ الْخَاطِـُٔوْنَ ‘‘ ’’خَاطِیٌ‘‘} is the plural of {لَايَاْكُلُهٗۤاِلَّاالْخَاطِـُٔوْنَ : ’’ الْخَاطِـُٔوْنَ ‘‘ ’’خَاطِیٌ‘‘}, one who deliberately commits a wrongful act, as stated: «اِنَّقَتْلَهُمْكَانَخِطْاًكَبِيْرًا »[ بني إسرائیل : ۳۱ ] "Indeed, their killing has always been a great sin." If someone commits a wrongful act unintentionally or without intent, then he is a {’’مخطي‘‘}. (Al-Mufradat wa Al-Tasheel)

37. Which none but the sinners [21] will eat.
[21] He adopted a selfish attitude in the world, neither helped anyone, nor showed sympathy, nor did such a thought ever occur to him. Therefore, today he too will find no sympathizer or helper. And when he becomes restless from hunger, he will be given the washing from the wounds of fellow inhabitants of Hell; this will be his food and this will be his drink. And it is obvious that the washing from wounds is neither food nor drink. But such criminals will have to consume only this. Nothing else will be provided to them. Then, there are various types of criminals; some inhabitants of Hell will be given thorny bushes to eat and boiling water to drink.
