خَـٰشِعَةً أَبْصَـٰرُهُمْ تَرْهَقُهُمْ ذِلَّةٌ ۖ وَقَدْ كَانُوا۟ يُدْعَوْنَ إِلَى ٱلسُّجُودِ وَهُمْ سَـٰلِمُونَ ﴿43﴾
Their eyes will be cast down and ignominy will cover them; they used to be called to prostrate themselves (offer prayers), while they were healthy and good (in the life of the world, but they did not).
خَـٰشِعَةً khāshiʿatan Humbled
أَبْصَـٰرُهُمْ abṣāruhum their eyes
تَرْهَقُهُمْ tarhaquhum will cover them
ذِلَّةٌۭ ۖ dhillatun humiliation
وَقَدْ waqad And indeed
كَانُوا۟ kānū they were
يُدْعَوْنَ yud'ʿawna called
إِلَى ilā to
ٱلسُّجُودِ l-sujūdi prostrate
وَهُمْ wahum while they
سَـٰلِمُونَ sālimūna (were) sound

(Ayah 43) {وَ قَدْ كَانُوْا يُدْعَوْنَ اِلَى السُّجُوْدِ وَ هُمْ سٰلِمُوْنَ:} It is as if, in the Hereafter, their backs being made a solid plank and their being unable to prostrate is the punishment for the fact that, while they were sound and healthy in the world, they did not accept the invitation to prostrate to the One Allah.

43. 1. That is, their situation will be the opposite of what it was in the world. In the world, due to arrogance and stubbornness, their necks were stiff.
