فَأَقْبَلَ بَعْضُهُمْ عَلَىٰ بَعْضٍ يَتَلَـٰوَمُونَ ﴿30﴾

Then they turned one against another, blaming.

The word "yatalāwamūn" (they blame one another) is from the form "tafā‘ul" which implies mutual participation, they began to blame each other. {’’ طٰغِيْنَ ‘‘ ’’طَغٰي يَطْغٰي‘‘} is the plural of the active participle from (ف). Now each of them began to blame the other, some held one responsible, others held another, then they themselves began to say, "Alas for our destruction! We ourselves had exceeded the limits that we considered Allah’s wealth as our own and began to make plans to deprive the rightful person." Now we repent, we turn to our Lord and hope from our Lord that He will grant us better than this in exchange.
