Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim — Hafiz Abdus Salam Bin Muhammad Bhutvi
Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
(Ayah 10) ➊ {وَلَاتُطِعْكُلَّحَلَّافٍمَّهِيْنٍ : ’’ حَلَّافٍ ‘‘ ’’حَلَفَيَحْلِفُ‘‘} (ض) is an intensive form, one who swears many oaths. {’’ مَهِيْنٍ ‘‘ ’’مَهُنَيَمْهُنُمَهَانَةً‘‘} (ک) (to be insignificant, humiliated) is on the pattern of {’’فَعِيْلٌ‘‘}, meaning insignificant, humiliated. These two qualities are inseparable from each other; by swearing too many oaths, a person becomes humiliated in the eyes of people, and it is precisely because he is humiliated and unreliable in the eyes of people that he swears more oaths, so that he can convince others of his words, because he himself understands that he has neither honor nor credibility in people’s hearts. ➋ Some commentators have taken the person with these bad traits mentioned in these six verses (10 to 15) to refer to a specific individual, but the words of the verse are general: «وَلَاتُطِعْكُلَّحَلَّافٍمَّهِيْنٍ » that “do not obey any person with such traits,” so every person with these traits is included in the meaning of the verse. In the previous verses, it was forbidden to obey the deniers, and now those same deniers are mentioned with these traits that generally develop in a person as a result of denying the religion. All these are qualities of disbelief; a person should strive that none of these traits develop within him.

Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran — Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani
Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
And do not obey every worthless oath-taker [8].
[8] A Person Who Swears Excessively Is Disgraced:
In this verse, Allah Almighty has stated a well-established principle: that a person who swears oaths at every turn, or feels the need to take oaths, clearly indicates that he himself does not trust his own words, nor do others trust him. He is disgraced in his own eyes and in the eyes of others as well. Therefore, there is no benefit in accepting the word of such a person.
