Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim — Hafiz Abdus Salam Bin Muhammad Bhutvi
Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
(Ayah 28) {قُلْاَرَءَيْتُمْاِنْاَهْلَكَنِيَاللّٰهُ … : ’’ يُجِيْرُ ‘‘ ’’أَجَارَيُجِيْرُإِجَارَةً‘‘} Hollow verb with wāw. The disbelievers of Makkah, disturbed by the spread of Islam and seeing all their efforts against the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) and his companions fail, were living in the hope that perhaps, someday, the turn of time would finish them off. (See Ṭūr: 30) In response, it was commanded: Say to them, whether Allah destroys me and my companions or has mercy on us, what concern is that of yours? You should worry about yourselves, for as a result of disbelief, the painful punishment that is to befall you—who will save you from that?
Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan — Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf
Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. This tafsir explains the meanings of the Quran in accordance with the methodology of the Salaf (early righteous generations), relying on authentic sources and straightforward language. Due to its reliability and adherence to sound Islamic scholarship, the Saudi government publishes and distributes this tafsir among the Hujjaj (pilgrims) visiting the Haramain. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
28. 1. The meaning is that there is no one to save the disbelievers from Allah's punishment, whether Allah destroys His Messenger and those who believe in him through death or killing, or grants them respite, or it means that despite our faith, we remain between fear and hope, so who will save you from punishment despite your disbelief?
Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran — Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani
Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
Say, "Tell me, if Allah were to destroy me and those with me, or if He has mercy on us, who will protect the disbelievers [31] from a painful punishment?"
[31] The disbelievers of Makkah and other tribes were waiting for some unexpected calamity to befall Islam and the Muslims, so that they would be destroyed and they would be rid of them. In this verse, Allah Almighty has answered the disbelievers’ wish. He said: Tell them that both possibilities exist for us: one is that, as you wish, some calamity befalls us and destroys us; and the other is that Allah has mercy on us and no harm comes to us. But you should worry about yourselves, for in the Hereafter you will certainly face a painful punishment. At that time, will anyone be able to save you from that punishment? As for us, our situation is that in the Hereafter we certainly hope for Allah’s forgiveness and Paradise.
