Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

(Ayah 27) {فَلَمَّا رَاَوْهُ زُلْفَةً سِيْٓـَٔتْ … : ’’ زُلْفَةً ‘‘ ’’زَلَفَ يَزْلُفُ‘‘} (ن) is an infinitive noun in the meaning of an active participle, near. {’’ تَدَّعُوْنَ ‘‘ ’’دَعَا يَدْعُوْ‘‘} is a present tense verb from the form "ifti‘āl," in which the "tā" of "ifti‘āl" is changed to "dāl" and then assimilated into the "dāl." Now, the Resurrection which they consider a joke and for which they repeatedly make bold demands, when they see it approaching, all their mockery and arrogance will be forgotten, their faces will be distorted with fear and terror, and it will be said: This is the Resurrection you used to demand.

Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. This tafsir explains the meanings of the Quran in accordance with the methodology of the Salaf (early righteous generations), relying on authentic sources and straightforward language. Due to its reliability and adherence to sound Islamic scholarship, the Saudi government publishes and distributes this tafsir among the Hujjaj (pilgrims) visiting the Haramain. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

27. 1. That is, humiliation and horror and terror will cause their faces to turn pale. This has been described in another place as the blackening of faces. That is, this punishment that you are witnessing is the same which you used to demand to be hastened in the world.

Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

Then when they see it (the punishment) approaching, the faces of the disbelievers will be distressed [30], and it will be said to them, "This is what you used to ask for."

[30] That is, at this time you mock and make sarcastic remarks about the Resurrection and life after death, but when you see it actually happening, your condition will be the same as that of a criminal sentenced to death when he sees the gallows. The expression on your face will change, and you will be struck with terror. At that time, the angels will address you and say: This is the Day of Resurrection for which you used to hasten. Do you now believe in it or not?
