Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

(Ayah 7){ يٰۤاَيُّهَا الَّذِيْنَ كَفَرُوْا لَا تَعْتَذِرُوا الْيَوْمَ … :} That is, when those hard-hearted and strong angels will throw the people of Hell into Hell, they will make various excuses and pretexts. Allah Almighty has mentioned their different excuses in the Noble Qur’an. (See A’raf: 38; An’am: 27, 24, 23) But it will be said to them that today do not make any excuses or pretexts, because it will not benefit you at all. You are being recompensed only for the deeds that you used to do. See also Surah Rum (57) and Surah Mumin (52).

Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Due to its reliability and adherence to sound Islamic scholarship, the Saudi government publishes and distributes this tafsir among the Hujjaj (pilgrims) visiting the Haramain. 7. (On that Day, Allah will say to the disbelievers:) "O disbelievers! Do not make excuses [15] today. You will only be recompensed for what you used to do."

[15] That is, today neither your excuses will be of any use nor will any kind of apology be accepted. This is because Allah is aware even of the thoughts within your hearts. Therefore, today you have no option except to bear the punishment for whatever you used to do.
