(Ayah 12){ وَمَرْيَمَابْنَتَعِمْرٰنَالَّتِيْۤاَحْصَنَتْفَرْجَهَا … :} That is, Allah Almighty has presented the wife of Pharaoh, Asiyah, and Maryam bint Imran as examples for the believers, stating that both were of the highest level of faith. The name of Maryam bint Imran appears not only at this place in the Noble Qur’an but in several places, and she is the only woman whom Allah Almighty has mentioned by name in the Qur’an. The explanation of most of the words in this verse has already been given in the commentary of Surah Al-Anbiya (91) and the explanation of other words has been mentioned in the commentary of various verses.

12. 1 The purpose of mentioning Maryam (علیہا السلام) is to state that despite living among a corrupt people, Allah honored her with dignity and nobility in this world and the Hereafter, and granted her superiority over all the women of the worlds.
12. 2 By the words of her Lord are meant the divine laws.
12. 3 That is, she was among those people or from a family who were obedient, devoted worshippers, and distinguished in righteousness and obedience. In the hadith, it is stated that the most virtuous women of Paradise are Khadijah, Fatimah, Maryam, and Asiyah, the wife of Pharaoh (may Allah be pleased with them). (Musnad Ahmad) In another hadith, it is said that many men attained perfection, but among women, only Asiyah, the wife of Pharaoh, Maryam bint Imran, and Khadijah bint Khuwaylid (may Allah be pleased with them) attained perfection, and the superiority of Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) over women is like the superiority of tharid over all foods. Sahih Bukhari.

12. And (the example of) Mary, the daughter of Imran, who guarded her chastity [24]. Then We breathed into her of Our spirit [25], and she confirmed the words [26] of her Lord and His scriptures, and she was among the devoutly obedient [27].
[24] That is, she did not have any husband. Thus, Lady Maryam preserved her chastity in both lawful and unlawful circumstances and remained pure.
[25] That is, a spirit was breathed into her through an angel. Sayyiduna Jibreel ؑ blew into her collar, as a result of which conception took place. From this conception, Sayyiduna Isa ؑ was born. This story has already been mentioned in great detail in the second ruku of Surah Maryam.
[26] By this are meant the words that the angels spoke to Lady Maryam. The details of the conversation between the angels and Lady Maryam have already been mentioned in the fifth ruku of Surah Aal-e-Imran. Thus, she submitted herself to the severe trial that Allah had decided for her. And it was because of this that she attained this great status. And by the Books of Allah, it could mean the Torah, the Gospel, or the previous scriptures. Thus, Lady Maryam affirmed all these books.
[27] One meaning of this is that Lady Maryam performed the obedience and worship of Allah with full humility, complete attention, and satisfaction of the heart. The second meaning is that her entire family, to which she belonged, was also like this.
