Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

(Ayah 4){ ذٰلِكَ فَضْلُ اللّٰهِ يُؤْتِيْهِ مَنْ يَّشَآءُ … :} That is, to raise a Prophet among the unlettered and to make him a Messenger for all people who will come until the Day of Resurrection is Allah’s grace; He gives it to whom He wills. He is not bound by the wishes of the Jews or anyone else, that He should bestow His grace only upon those whom they desire, nor is it dependent on anyone’s effort or striving, that someone may attain the rank of prophethood through exertion and effort. Rather, it is entirely dependent on Allah’s selection and His will. Allah Almighty says: « اَللّٰهُ يَصْطَفِيْ مِنَ الْمَلٰٓىِٕكَةِ رُسُلًا وَّ مِنَ النَّاسِ » [ الحج : ۷۵ ] “Allah chooses messengers from among the angels and from among the people.” And He said: « اَللّٰهُ اَعْلَمُ حَيْثُ يَجْعَلُ رِسَالَتَهٗ » [ الأنعام : ۱۲۴ ] “Allah knows best where to place His message.” And He said: « وَ اللّٰهُ يَخْتَصُّ بِرَحْمَتِهٖ مَنْ يَّشَآءُ وَ اللّٰهُ ذُو الْفَضْلِ الْعَظِيْمِ » [ البقرۃ : ۱۰۵ ] “And Allah singles out for His mercy whom He wills, and Allah is the possessor of great bounty.”

Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. This tafsir explains the meanings of the Quran in accordance with the methodology of the Salaf (early righteous generations), relying on authentic sources and straightforward language. Due to its reliability and adherence to sound Islamic scholarship, the Saudi government publishes and distributes this tafsir among the Hujjaj (pilgrims) visiting the Haramain. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

4. 1. This may be a reference to the Prophethood of Muhammad ﷺ and also to those who believe in it.

Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

4. That is the grace of Allah; He gives it to whom He wills [8], and Allah is the Possessor of great bounty.

[8] If the Jews are envious, then let them remain envious. They are not the custodians of Allah’s grace that, if a Messenger was to come, he should have come from their nation. And is this not a great favor that until the Day of Judgment, the leadership of the entire earth has been entrusted to the Prophet of Islam and his Ummah?
