Say (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم): "I am on clear proof from my Lord (Islâmic Monotheism), but you deny it (the truth that has come to me from Allâh). Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

(Ayah 57) ➊ {قُلْ اِنِّيْ عَلٰى بَيِّنَةٍ …:} Say, "I have a clear proof (the Quran) from my Lord, that is, divine revelation, whose fundamental principle is Tawheed, but you have denied it. Now, the punishment that you are demanding to be hastened is not within my power. The decision to bring or not bring the punishment rests only with Allah, the Exalted."
{اِنِ الْحُكْمُ اِلَّا لِلّٰهِ:} It is understood that the Prophets have no authority over miracles; this authority belongs only to Allah, the Exalted.

Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. This tafsir explains the meanings of the Quran in accordance with the methodology of the Salaf (early righteous generations), relying on authentic sources and straightforward language. Due to its reliability and adherence to sound Islamic scholarship, the Saudi government publishes and distributes this tafsir among the Hujjaj (pilgrims) visiting the Haramain. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

57. 1. The meaning is that Shariah which has been revealed to you through revelation, in which Tawheed holds the foremost position. ان اللہ لا ینظر الی صورکم ولا الی اموالکم ولکن ینظر الی قلوبکم واعمالکم (Sahih Muslim)

57. 2. Allah alone has authority over the entire universe and all matters are in His hands. Therefore, what you desire—that Allah’s punishment should come upon you quickly so that you may know my truthfulness—this too is in Allah’s control. If He wills, He can send punishment quickly according to your wish and warn you, and if He wills, He can grant respite until His wisdom requires it.

57. 3. It is from یَقُصُّ قَصَصْ, meaning یَقُصُّ قَصَصَ الْحَق: He states or tells the truth, or from قص اثرہ (to follow someone’s footsteps), meaning یتبع الحق فیما یحکم بہ: In His judgments, He follows the truth, that is, He makes decisions according to the truth (Fath al-Qadeer).

Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

57. Say: "I stand on a clear proof (the Quran) from my Lord, and you have denied it. The thing you are impatient for (the punishment) is not in my power. The decision rests only with Allah; He declares the truth, and He is the best of judges."

[61] "Why does the punishment not come upon us if you are truthful?" In this verse, another characteristic of such criminals or stubborn people is described. The disbelievers of Makkah used to say that if you were a true prophet, then why are you and your companions in such a state of helplessness and weakness? And if you were truthful, the punishment with which you keep threatening us should have already come upon us, especially considering the hardships we are inflicting upon you. In response to this statement of the criminals, Allah has said that you should tell them that it is sufficient for my own satisfaction that I am following exactly the straight path which Allah has revealed to me. As for the question of why that punishment has not yet come upon you, the answer is that bringing such a punishment is not within my power. This is Allah's work. When He wishes to decide between us and you, He will subject you to such a punishment.
