Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim — Hafiz Abdus Salam Bin Muhammad Bhutvi
Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
(Ayah 55)➊ {وَكَذٰلِكَنُفَصِّلُالْاٰيٰتِ … :} Allah Almighty says that We have explained these matters in detail so that the truth becomes manifest and can be acted upon, and the path of the criminals becomes clearly evident, so that it can be avoided. (Jalalayn) From this verse, it is understood that those who engage in da'wah and preaching should be fully aware of the tactics of the opponents (criminals), so that they can refute them. This was the quality of the noble Companions, may Allah be pleased with them, that on one hand, they understood Islam very well, and on the other hand, they were fully acquainted with the customs and laws of ignorance, because they had passed through the period of ignorance. This subject has been well explained in Hafiz Ibn Qayyim's (rahimahullah) book Al-Fawaid. ➋ {وَلِتَسْتَبِيْنَ :} The meaning of {’’ بَانَيَبِيْنُ ‘‘} is to be separate, to be clear, so in the form of istif‘al, due to the abundance of letters, it has been translated as "and so that it becomes fully clear."
Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan — Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf
Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. This tafsir explains the meanings of the Quran in accordance with the methodology of the Salaf (early righteous generations), relying on authentic sources and straightforward language. Due to its reliability and adherence to sound Islamic scholarship, the Saudi government publishes and distributes this tafsir among the Hujjaj (pilgrims) visiting the Haramain. Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran — Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani
Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
55. Thus We make Our commandments clear, and also so that the way of the criminals [59] becomes fully distinct.
[59] The Characteristics of the Criminals:
Some of the characteristics of such criminals have already been mentioned, that is, those people who do not come close to believing, but instead make demands and objections, such as: "Show us such-and-such miracle, or tell us about such-and-such thing, then we will believe." Sometimes they say that the Prophet is a human being just like us, and sometimes they say that if you remove these lowly people from your gathering, then we can join your assembly. Some of the characteristics of these criminals have been mentioned in the previous verses, and some are being mentioned ahead. Allah Almighty says that We are mentioning these details so that the characteristics of such stubborn criminals become clear and evident.
