وَمَا نُرْسِلُ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ إِلَّا مُبَشِّرِينَ وَمُنذِرِينَ ۖ فَمَنْ ءَامَنَ وَأَصْلَحَ فَلَا خَوْفٌ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَا هُمْ يَحْزَنُونَ ﴿48﴾
And We send not the Messengers but as givers of glad tidings and as warners. So whosoever believes and does righteous good deeds, upon such shall come no fear, nor shall they grieve.
وَمَا wamā And not
نُرْسِلُ nur'silu We send
ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ l-mur'salīna the Messengers
إِلَّا illā except
مُبَشِّرِينَ mubashirīna (as) bearer of glad tidings
وَمُنذِرِينَ ۖ wamundhirīna and (as) warners
فَمَنْ faman So whoever
ءَامَنَ āmana believed
وَأَصْلَحَ wa-aṣlaḥa and reformed
فَلَا falā then no
خَوْفٌ khawfun fear
عَلَيْهِمْ ʿalayhim upon them
وَلَا walā and not
هُمْ hum they
يَحْزَنُونَ yaḥzanūna will grieve

48. 1. They give glad tidings to the obedient ones of those blessings and the great reward which Allah has prepared for them in the form of Paradise, and they warn the disobedient ones of those punishments which Allah has prepared for them in the form of Hell.

48. 2. They have no fear of the circumstances that will occur in the future (i.e., the Hereafter), nor are they grieved over what they have left behind in the world or the worldly comforts they could not attain, because in both worlds their Guardian and Helper is that Lord who is the Lord of both worlds.
