Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

(Ayah 21) {وَ مَنْ اَظْلَمُ مِمَّنِ افْتَرٰى …:} That is, if I have lied, then there is no one more unjust than me, and if I have conveyed the truth and you have denied it, then there is no one more sinful than you, so take care of yourselves. (Muwaddih) Now in this verse, the reason for their loss has been stated. (Razi) The first cause of loss is considered to be fabricating lies against Allah, that is, attributing falsehood to Allah, and the people of knowledge know that the very foundation of the religion of the disbelievers of Makkah was based on inventing lies. Declaring idols as partners of Allah, calling angels the daughters of Allah, and declaring Bahira and Sa'iba, etc., as forbidden, all these things were based on fabrications. Similarly, many fabrications had entered the religion of the Jews and Christians, for example, they considered the Torah and the Gospel to be unabrogatable, called themselves the sons and beloved of Allah, and likewise said many ignorant things about Allah. The second cause of loss is denying the signs of Allah, which also includes denying miracles and commandments.

Among those who fabricate lies against Allah are also included those thirty great liars who falsely claim prophethood, about whom the Prophet (peace be upon him) foretold. [ مسلم، الفتن، باب لا تقوم الساعۃ … : ۸۴؍۲۹۲۳ ] Among them are Mirza Qadiani and those who call him a prophet, and in addition, those who attribute any false hadith to the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him), because whoever attributes anything to him is, in reality, attributing that thing to Allah.

Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. This tafsir explains the meanings of the Quran in accordance with the methodology of the Salaf (early righteous generations), relying on authentic sources and straightforward language. Due to its reliability and adherence to sound Islamic scholarship, the Saudi government publishes and distributes this tafsir among the Hujjaj (pilgrims) visiting the Haramain. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

21. 1. Just as the one who fabricates lies against Allah (that is, falsely claims prophethood) is the greatest wrongdoer, in the same way, he is also a great wrongdoer who denies the signs of Allah and His true Messenger. Despite such a severe warning against the false claim of prophethood, the fact is that many people in every era have falsely claimed prophethood, and thus, indeed, the Prophet’s prophecy that there will be thirty great liars (Dajjals) will come true. Each one will claim that he is a prophet. In the past century as well, a person from Qadian claimed prophethood, and today his followers consider him a true prophet and some regard him as the Messiah and deity, just because a small group accepts him as a prophet. However, the fact that some people accept a liar as truthful cannot be proof of his truthfulness. For truthfulness, clear evidence from the Qur’an and Hadith is required.

21. 2. Since both of these are wrongdoers, neither the fabricator (of lies) will succeed, nor the denier (of the truth), so it is necessary that everyone should carefully consider their own end.

Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

21. And who is more unjust than one who fabricates a lie against Allah [24], or denies His signs [25]? Surely, such wrongdoers will never succeed.

Types of Polytheistic Beliefs:

For example, to hold the belief that Allah has granted some of the saints the authority to control matters in the universe, just as the polytheists believe about their gods and goddesses that they can fulfill their needs and remove their difficulties; or to believe that Allah does not listen to the prayers and supplications of sinners like us, therefore it is necessary that we present our plea to some saintly person, and he will convey our plea to Allah; or to claim that along with Allah, there are many other beings who are partners and helpers in the divinity of this universe; or to believe that a certain saint of ours will intercede for us on the Day of Judgment and save us from Allah’s grasp and divine punishment. All such things are slander against Allah and the source of shirk.

What Are the Signs (Ayat) of Allah:

By "ayat" is not meant only the verses of the Quran, but also those signs that are present within the human body and, in addition to being evidence of Allah’s perfect knowledge and wisdom, also indicate His being One without partner. Likewise, those signs that are spread all around in the entire universe outside of man. Now, if a person keeps turning away from all these kinds of signs, then how is his salvation possible?
