Verily, proofs have come to you from your Lord, so whosoever sees, will do so for (the good of) his ownself, and whosoever blinds himself, will do so to his own harm, and I (Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم) am not a watcher over you.

(Ayah 104){ قَدْجَآءَكُمْبَصَآىِٕرُمِنْرَّبِّكُمْ … : ’’ بَصَآىِٕرُ ‘‘} This is the plural of { ’’ بَصِيْرَةٌ ‘‘ }, which is the name for the light of the heart, just as "basarat" refers to seeing with the eyes. That is, proofs have come to you from your Lord that illuminate the heart and the eyes, as mentioned in the above verses. Now, whoever reflects upon them and believes, it is for his own benefit, and whoever does not reflect upon them and does not believe, he harms only himself. I am not a guardian over you that I could put you on the straight path whether you wish or not; giving guidance or not is solely Allah's work.

14. 1. "Basa'ir" is the plural of "Basirah," which originally means the light of the heart. Here, it refers to those evidences that the Quran has mentioned repeatedly and in various places, and which the Prophet ﷺ has also explained in the hadiths. Whoever adopts the path of guidance after seeing these evidences, the benefit is his own; if he does not adopt it, the loss is his own. As it is said: من اھتدی فانما یھتدی لنفسہ ومن ضل فانما یضل علیھا (whoever is guided, is guided only for his own soul, and whoever goes astray, goes astray only against it). (Bani Israel). 14. 2. Rather, I am only a messenger, a caller, and a bearer of glad tidings and a warner. Showing the path is my task; making someone walk upon it is in Allah's control.

104. Enlightening proofs have come to you from your Lord. So whoever sees, it is for his own benefit, and whoever remains blind, the loss [106] is his own. And I am not a guardian over you.
[106] From Whom Did You Learn the Quran?
That is, many such arguments have been mentioned for the existence of Allah and His recognition, that if a person reflects upon them, he will certainly attain the truth, and it is in his own benefit. And whoever does not wish to understand anything himself, he will bear its loss himself. From here, suddenly, the speaker changes; previously, the discourse was from Allah Almighty, and the phrase "I am not a guardian over you" is from the tongue of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. Such changes of pronouns are frequently found in Arabic speech, and such discourse is considered even more eloquent. That is, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ is saying that those people who do not even bother to reflect upon these enlightening arguments, it is not my duty to show them these arguments and compel them to understand.
