Translation by Dr. Muhammad Muhsin Khan & Dr. Taqi-ud-Din al-Hilali
So the end of both will be that they will be in the Fire, abiding therein. Such is the recompense of the Zâlimûn (i.e. polytheists, wrong-doers, disbelievers in Allâh and in His Oneness).

Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim — Hafiz Abdus Salam Bin Muhammad Bhutvi
Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
(Ayah 17) {فَكَانَعَاقِبَتَهُمَاۤاَنَّهُمَافِيالنَّارِخَالِدَيْنِفِيْهَا … :} That is, on the Day of Resurrection, neither Satan nor other misleaders will be able to save themselves from the Fire by saying that they had only invited them to disbelief and had not compelled them, and now they have no connection with them; nor will the disbelievers be able to save themselves by saying that Satan or those people had led them astray, so instead of us, they should be punished. Rather, those who invited to misguidance will also enter Hell, and all those who went astray at their word, and this is the recompense for all wrongdoers. See also Surah Al-A'raf (39, 38), Al-Ankabut (13, 12), Saba (32, 31), and Surah Qaf (23 to 29).

17. Then the end [23] of both of them is that they will abide forever in the Fire, and that is the recompense of the wrongdoers.
[23] That is, the one who goes astray should use his own intellect and understanding, and should avoid the one who leads astray. Then, when he went astray, both became alike and became companions of one another. Therefore, both will receive the same punishment. Both will be fuel for Hell forever.
