Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

(See Kahf: 102) {’’ تَصْلِيَةُ ‘‘ ’’صَلِيَ يَصْلٰي‘‘} (ʿ) is the verbal noun of the form tafʿīl, meaning to admit or to cause to enter. A part of the hadith narrated from Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) has already been mentioned in the exegesis of Ayah (89, 88), in which the state of the death of the disbelievers is also described. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: فَيُقَالُ فُلاَنٌ، فَيُقَالُ لاَ مَرْحَبًا بِالنَّفْسِ الْخَبِيْثَةِ كَانَتْ فِي الْجَسَدِ الْخَبِيْثِ ارْجِعِيْ ذَمِيْمَةً فَإِنَّهَا لاَ تُفْتَحُ لَكِ أَبْوَابُ السَّمَاءِ، فَيُرْسَلُ بِهَا مِنَ السَّمَاءِ ثُمَّ تَصِيْرُ إِلَی الْقَبْرِ ] [ ابن ماجہ، الزھد، باب ذکر الموت والاستعداد لہ: ۴۲۶۲، وقال الألباني صحیح ] "And when a person is evil, (the angel) says: 'Come out, O wicked soul that was in a wicked body! And receive the tidings of boiling water and pus, and other kinds of similar punishments.' Then this is continuously said to it until it comes out. Then it is taken up towards the sky, but the gate is not opened for it, and it is asked: 'Who is this?' It is said: 'So-and-so.' Then it is said: 'No welcome for this wicked soul that was in a wicked body; return in a condemned state, for the gates of the sky will not be opened for you.' Then it is thrown down from the sky and returns to the grave."
