فَكَانَتْ هَبَآءً مُّنۢبَثًّا ﴿6﴾
So that they will become floating dust particles.

(Ayah 6) ➊ {فَكَانَتْ هَبَآءً مُّنْۢبَثًّا: ’’ هَبَآءً ‘‘} refers to those particles of dust that shine in the sunlight coming through a skylight into a room; if you try to catch them, you get nothing in your hand. { ’’بَثَّ يَبُثُّ بَثًّا‘‘} (n) to spread. {’’اِنْبَثَّ اِنْبِثَاثًا‘‘} (infa'al) to be spread. {’’ مُنْۢبَثًّا ‘‘} is an active participle, that which spreads. ➋ In these verses, from {’’ اِذَا وَقَعَتِ الْوَاقِعَةُ ‘‘} to {’’ وَ كُنْتُمْ اَزْوَاجًا ثَلٰثَةً ‘‘}, some events are described as occurring at the time of the first blowing of the trumpet, such as {’’ اِذَا رُجَّتِ الْاَرْضُ رَجًّا ‘‘} and {’’ وَ بُسَّتِ الْجِبَالُ بَسًّا ‘‘}, and some are at the time of the second blowing, such as {’’ خَافِضَةٌ رَّافِعَةٌ ‘‘} and {’’ وَ كُنْتُمْ اَزْوَاجًا ثَلٰثَةً ‘‘}, and some are common to both blowings, such as {’’ اِذَا وَقَعَتِ الْوَاقِعَةُ ‘‘} and {’’ لَيْسَ لِوَقْعَتِهَا كَاذِبَةٌ ‘‘}. Since the entire period of the first and second blowing is that of the Resurrection, therefore, every part of it can be called the time of every event. Thus, in the Noble Qur'an, generally the matters that occur as a result of both blowings are mentioned together.
