Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

(Ayah 44) {يَطُوْفُوْنَ بَيْنَهَا وَ بَيْنَ حَمِيْمٍ اٰنٍ: ’’ اٰنٍ ‘‘ ’’أَنٰي يَأْنِيْ إِنًي‘‘} is an active participle from (ض), just as {’’ قَاضٍ‘‘} is, extremely hot, boiling. In Surah Al-Ghashiyah it is said: «تُسْقٰى مِنْ عَيْنٍ اٰنِيَةٍ » [الغاشیۃ:۵] "They will be given drink from a boiling spring." {’’ إِنًي‘‘} means the cooking or readiness of food, as He said: « غَيْرَ نٰظِرِيْنَ اِنٰىهُ» [ الأحزاب : ۵۳ ] "While they are not waiting for it to be cooked." For the explanation of {’’ يَطُوْفُوْنَ ‘‘}, see Surah As-Saffat (66 to 68).

44. They will go back and forth between Hell [30] and boiling water.

[30] Due to the intensity of the heat, the inhabitants of Hell will repeatedly become thirsty and will run towards the springs of hot water that are boiling because of the heat. They will be made to drink the boiling water and then brought back. Soon after, thirst will torment them again. Then they will run towards the springs, and this process will continue without end.
