Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim — Hafiz Abdus Salam Bin Muhammad Bhutvi
Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
(Ayah 37) {فَاِذَاانْشَقَّتِالسَّمَآءُ … : ’’ وَرْدَةً ‘‘} Pink like the rose flower. {’’اَلدِّهَانُ‘‘} There are two opinions among the scholars: one is red leather and the other is "oil" that is mixed. In this meaning, some say: it is the plural of {’’اَلدِّهَانُ‘‘ ’’دُهْنٌ‘‘} and some say it is singular. Oil is also called {’’ دُهْنٌ‘‘} and {’’دِهَانٌ‘‘}. For the explanation of {’’ فَاِذَاانْشَقَّتِالسَّمَآءُ ‘‘}, see Surah Haqqah (16), Furqan (25), and Surah Inshiqaq (1, 2).
If the meaning of {’’اَلدِّهَانُ‘‘} is taken as red leather, then at this point the verse is describing one attribute of the sky: that the sky, which is blue today, will become red and pink like red leather at that time. And if the meaning of {’’اَلدِّهَانُ‘‘} is taken as oil, then at the time of the sky splitting, the verse will be describing two attributes: one, that it will be red due to intense heat, and second, that it will melt and become like oil, as He said: « يَوْمَتَكُوْنُالسَّمَآءُكَالْمُهْلِ »[ المعارج : ۸ ] "The Day when the sky will be like molten brass (or dregs)." (Shanqiti)

The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
37. 1. On the Day of Resurrection, the sky will be torn apart, the angels will descend upon the earth, on that day it will melt due to the intensity of its heat and become like red leather. دِھَان means red leather.

37. When the sky is split apart [27], and becomes red like dregs of oil.
[27] First, the word ﴿وردة﴾ is used. Ward means rose flower, and ﴿وَرْدَةً﴾ means rosy color, ﴿دِهَانٌ﴾ means the reddish sediment of oil—that is, on the day when the sky will be rent asunder, the entire system of the planets will be disrupted, and whoever looks towards the sky will feel as if there is fire blazing everywhere in the higher realm.
