فَدَعَا رَبَّهُۥٓ أَنِّى مَغْلُوبٌ فَٱنتَصِرْ ﴿10﴾
Then he invoked his Lord (saying): "I have been overcome, so help (me)!"
فَدَعَا fadaʿā So he called
رَبَّهُۥٓ rabbahu his Lord
أَنِّى annī I am
مَغْلُوبٌۭ maghlūbun one overpowered
فَٱنتَصِرْ fa-intaṣir so help

10. So he called upon his Lord, "I am overpowered [11], so help me against them."

[11] After hundreds of years of striving with his people and enduring their harm and rebukes, he prayed at a time when he had become completely hopeless that anyone else would believe. And his prayer was that, for the oppression and tyranny these people had inflicted upon us, help us and take retribution from them.
