Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

(Ayah 26) {وَ كَمْ مِّنْ مَّلَكٍ فِي السَّمٰوٰتِ لَا تُغْنِيْ شَفَاعَتُهُمْ شَيْـًٔا … :} That is, these helpers and removers of difficulties of yours, and the gods and goddesses made in the names of angels, are merely products of your imagination and conjecture; in reality, they do not exist at all. Here, even the real angels who dwell in the heavens and have closeness to Allah Almighty, their intercession is of no avail, except for the one whom Allah Almighty permits, and it benefits only the one for whom Allah Almighty is pleased with intercession and grants permission for it. In short, the authority of intercession also rests only with Allah Almighty. He said: « قُلْ لِّلّٰهِ الشَّفَاعَةُ جَمِيْعًا » [ الزمر : ۴۴ ] "Say, all intercession belongs entirely to Allah." Then why do you call upon and worship anyone else besides Him? For more on intercession, see Surah Al-Baqarah (255): « مَنْ ذَا الَّذِيْ يَشْفَعُ عِنْدَهٗۤ اِلَّا بِاِذْنِهٖ» (Ayat al-Kursi) and the commentary of Surah An-Naba (38).

Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. This tafsir explains the meanings of the Quran in accordance with the methodology of the Salaf (early righteous generations), relying on authentic sources and straightforward language. Due to its reliability and adherence to sound Islamic scholarship, the Saudi government publishes and distributes this tafsir among the Hujjaj (pilgrims) visiting the Haramain. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

26. 1. That is, even the angels, who are the closest creation to Allah, will be granted the right of intercession only for those whom Allah is pleased with. When this is the case, then how can these stone idols, in whom you have placed your hopes, intercede for anyone? Furthermore, when shirk is unforgivable in the sight of Allah, when will Allah ever grant anyone the right to intercede on behalf of the polytheists?

Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

And how many angels there are in the heavens whose intercession will be of no avail at all, except after Allah gives permission to whom He wills and approves [17].

The Principle of Intercession:

Your deities have no status whatsoever; even if all the angels in the heavens were to intercede for you together, they would not be able to benefit you in any way. The reason is that intercession will only be accepted for the one for whom Allah wills, and Allah has already decided regarding the polytheists that He will never forgive them, so how can they intercede for you? Furthermore, only those will be able to intercede who have been granted permission by Allah to do so, whether they are humans or angels. There is no question of intercession by your stone deities whom you consider to be angels and daughters of Allah. Therefore, your wishes can never be fulfilled.
