Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

(Ayah 9) {يَوْمَ تَمُوْرُ السَّمَآءُ مَوْرًا: ’’مَارَ يَمُوْرُ مَوْرًا‘‘} (n) The rapid movement of something and shaking forcefully back and forth and to the right and left, overturning, spinning. {’’ مَوْرًا ‘‘} is a verbal noun for emphasis, therefore it is translated as "severe shaking." {’’ يَوْمَ ‘‘ ’’ لَوَاقِعٌ ‘‘} is its adverbial phrase, meaning the punishment of your Lord will occur on the day when there will be a severe shaking in the sky and it will spin with great speed and eventually split apart. For the states that will occur to the sky on the Day of Resurrection, see Surah Al-Furqan (25), Ar-Rahman (37), Al-Haqqah (16), Al-Ma'arij (8), Al-Muzzammil (18), Al-Mursalat (9), An-Naba (19), At-Takwir (11), Al-Infitar (1), Al-Inshiqaq (1), Ibrahim (48), Al-Anbiya (104), and Surah Az-Zumar (67).

Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. This tafsir explains the meanings of the Quran in accordance with the methodology of the Salaf (early righteous generations), relying on authentic sources and straightforward language. Due to its reliability and adherence to sound Islamic scholarship, the Saudi government publishes and distributes this tafsir among the Hujjaj (pilgrims) visiting the Haramain. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

9. 1. The meaning of مور is movement and agitation. On the Day of Resurrection, the disturbance that will occur in the order of the heavens and the disintegration of stars and planets is expressed with these words, and this is the circumstance for the mentioned punishment. That is, the punishment will occur on the day when the sky will tremble and the mountains will leave their places and fly like tufts of cotton and grains of sand.

Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

On the Day when the sky will shake violently [7],

The Literal Meaning of "Mawr":
Tamur — The basic concept in the root "mar" is movement and swiftness. ﴿النَّاقَة تَمُوْرُ فِي سَيْرِهَا﴾ means a she-camel moving so swiftly that it raises dust as it goes (Mufradat), and "mur" means to become dust and fly in the air (Fiqh al-Lughah), and ﴿مارَالشَّي﴾ means for something to shake back and forth, tremble, and lose balance due to rapid movement (Munjid). Thus, on that day, the very structure of the sky will be shaken; it will tremble, quake, sway, stagger, and eventually break apart into particles and begin to fly away.
