أَمْ لَهُمْ إِلَـٰهٌ غَيْرُ ٱللَّهِ ۚ سُبْحَـٰنَ ٱللَّهِ عَمَّا يُشْرِكُونَ ﴿43﴾
Or have they an ilâh (a god) other than Allâh? Glorified be Allâh from all that they ascribe as partners (to Him)
أَمْ am Or
لَهُمْ lahum for them
إِلَـٰهٌ ilāhun a god
غَيْرُ ghayru other than
ٱللَّهِ ۚ l-lahi Allah
سُبْحَـٰنَ sub'ḥāna Glory be
ٱللَّهِ l-lahi (to) Allah

يُشْرِكُونَ yush'rikūna they associate (with Him)

(Ayah 43) ➊ { اَمْ لَهُمْ اِلٰهٌ غَيْرُ اللّٰهِ :} Or is there, besides Allah, any other deity who is worthy of worship and possesses the power to benefit or harm?
{ سُبْحٰنَ اللّٰهِ عَمَّا يُشْرِكُوْنَ: ’’مَا‘‘} can be either a relative pronoun or a verbal noun. If it is a relative pronoun, the meaning is: "Exalted is Allah above what they associate as partners." If it is a verbal noun, the meaning is: "Exalted is Allah above their associating partners." That is, Allah is pure from their shirk and the partners they have made; He has no partner. The deities made by these people have no real existence; they are merely worshipping their own imagination and conjecture.
