Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

(Ayah 16) ➊ { اِصْلَوْهَا:} Obviously, they will say: "Our Lord! This is neither magic nor are we blind to seeing it, just let us return once, we will never deny again." (See An'am: 27 to 30) But the command will be that now there is no choice but to enter it, keep burning in it.

{ فَاصْبِرُوْۤا اَوْ لَا تَصْبِرُوْا سَوَآءٌ عَلَيْكُمْ:} That is, whether you are patient or not, both are the same for you, because neither will your punishment be lessened by patience, nor by lamenting and wailing, because now there will be no reduction in the punishment, no pause in it, and you will not be able to escape from it. See also Surah Baqarah (162), Zukhruf (75), and Surah Ibrahim (21).

{ اِنَّمَا تُجْزَوْنَ مَا كُنْتُمْ تَعْمَلُوْنَ:} That is, just as you had decided that under no circumstances would you believe, now the recompense is that under no circumstances will you be able to get out of the Fire.

Enter it! Whether you endure patiently or not, it is all the same for you. You will only be repaid for what you used to do [12].

[12] In the world, you had decided that no matter what happens, we will never accept this call to truth, and then you remained stubborn upon this obstinacy. In the same way, there will be no reduction in your punishment; whether you scream and cry or bear the punishment with patience, it will make no difference.
