➋ { فَاصْبِرُوْۤا اَوْ لَا تَصْبِرُوْا سَوَآءٌ عَلَيْكُمْ:} That is, whether you are patient or not, both are the same for you, because neither will your punishment be lessened by patience, nor by lamenting and wailing, because now there will be no reduction in the punishment, no pause in it, and you will not be able to escape from it. ➌ { اِنَّمَا تُجْزَوْنَ مَا كُنْتُمْ تَعْمَلُوْنَ:} That is, just as you had decided that under no circumstances would you believe, now the recompense is that under no circumstances will you be able to get out of the Fire.

[12] In the world, you had decided that no matter what happens, we will never accept this call to truth, and then you remained stubborn upon this obstinacy. In the same way, there will be no reduction in your punishment; whether you scream and cry or bear the punishment with patience, it will make no difference.
