Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

(Ayah 44,43) {وَ فِيْ ثَمُوْدَ اِذْ قِيْلَ لَهُمْ تَمَتَّعُوْا حَتّٰى حِيْنٍ … :} There are two opinions regarding its exegesis. One is that when they hamstrung the she-camel, it was said to them: "Enjoy yourselves for three days, after which the punishment will come upon you." During these three days, they could have repented, but they persisted in their rebellion and in denying Salih (peace be upon him). So, on the third day, before their very eyes, a dreadful scream was raised (Hud: 67), accompanied by a terrifying thunderbolt, which incinerated them, and they were annihilated as if they had never existed at all. It is said: «كَاَنْ لَّمْ يَغْنَوْا فِيْهَا » [ ھود : ۶۸ ] "As if they had never dwelt among them." The second opinion is that this {’’ تَمَتَّعُوْا حَتّٰى حِيْنٍ ‘‘} ("Enjoy yourselves for a while") refers to the address of Salih (peace be upon him) at the time he was sent to them, that in this world you have respite until death, so enjoy yourselves, but do not harm this she-camel, otherwise punishment will come upon you. But they rebelled against the command of their Lord and hamstrung the she-camel, so the thunderbolt seized them. The words of the verse accommodate both meanings, and both can be intended simultaneously.

Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. This tafsir explains the meanings of the Quran in accordance with the methodology of the Salaf (early righteous generations), relying on authentic sources and straightforward language. Due to its reliability and adherence to sound Islamic scholarship, the Saudi government publishes and distributes this tafsir among the Hujjaj (pilgrims) visiting the Haramain. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

43. 1. That is, when they killed the she-camel which they themselves had demanded as a miracle, it was said to them that now enjoy the pleasures of the world for three more days; after three days you will be destroyed. This is what is being referred to. Some have considered this to be the statement of Prophet Salih (AS) at the beginning of his prophethood. The words can bear this meaning as well, and in fact, from the context, this meaning is closer.

Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

And in Thamud (there is also a sign), when it was said to them, "Enjoy yourselves for a while [37]."

Mention of the People of Thamud:

Salih ؑ was sent to the people of Thamud. He conveyed Allah's message to the people, but they became determined in their opposition. At that time, Salih ؑ said that if you do not accept this call, then the punishment of Allah will surely come upon you. Before this punishment, you may benefit from the wealth and goods of this world. Or it is possible that here "heen" refers not to the time of punishment, but to the time of their death.
