مَا تَذَرُ مِن شَىْءٍ أَتَتْ عَلَيْهِ إِلَّا جَعَلَتْهُ كَٱلرَّمِيمِ ﴿42﴾
It spared nothing that it reached, but blew it into broken spreads of rotten ruins.

42. 1. This was the effect of the wind that was sent as a punishment upon the people of ‘Ad. This violent and fierce wind continued to blow for seven nights and eight days consecutively (الحاقہ).

[36] This barren wind was the Baad-e-Sarsar (a furiously cold wind), as cold as hail and fiercer than a storm. It was becoming uncontrollable. This stormy wind blew upon them continuously for seven nights and eight days. It entered their houses and destroyed everything. Its mention has already occurred at several places in the Quran and will come again later.
