The Hereafter is, in fact, the Day of the Result of Man’s Test, upon which Reward and Punishment Will Be Based:

The sustenance and life of all creatures living on earth depend on the system of rain on earth; for this reason, this entire system is presented as evidence to claim that what is being promised to you is absolutely based on reality. The promise may refer to the promise of the Hereafter, or of Paradise, or of Hell, and also the promise of punishment, whether it is the punishment of this world or of the Hereafter. And this system of rain is an argument for the promise of the Hereafter in the sense that whatever is happening in this universe, and especially this system of rain, there is nothing among them that is useless or does not produce any beneficial result. Then, the intellect and discernment that Allah has given to man, and the authority He has granted him over countless things in the universe—if he was only to benefit in this world and then, after death, simply mix with the dust, then what would be the result of his creation and of granting him so many favors? Then, when nothing in the universe has been created in vain, has man alone, who is the noblest of creation, been created in vain? The beneficial result of man’s creation, which is in Allah’s will, is called the Hereafter, and this result will inevitably come to pass. People will certainly be questioned about their deeds, and they will definitely receive the recompense for their actions.
