Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

The word in Ayah 7 { وَ الْاَرْضَ مَدَدْنٰهَا … : ’’ بَهِيْجٍ ‘‘ ’’بَهْجَةٌ‘‘} is a form of the adjective, meaning "possessor of excellence." For the explanation of this verse, see Surah Al-Hijr (19), An-Nahl (15), Ta-Ha (53), An-Naml (60, 61), Luqman (10), Az-Zukhruf (10 to 14), and Al-Mursalat (25 to 27).

Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. This tafsir explains the meanings of the Quran in accordance with the methodology of the Salaf (early righteous generations), relying on authentic sources and straightforward language. Due to its reliability and adherence to sound Islamic scholarship, the Saudi government publishes and distributes this tafsir among the Hujjaj (pilgrims) visiting the Haramain. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

7. 1. And some have taken the meaning of "zauj" as "pair," that is, every kind of plant and thing has been made in pairs (male and female). The meaning of "bahīj" is beautiful, lush, and handsome.

Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

And We spread out the earth [8] and placed firm mountains [9] upon it, and caused to grow in it every beautiful [10] kind (of plant).

The Creation of the Earth and Its Benefits:

This is the second proof: Allah Almighty made the earth so vast and spread out that it could serve as a dwelling and place of settlement for all animals and humans to be born until the Day of Judgment, and that it could produce enough crops to provide sustenance for all living beings and humans until the end of time. Furthermore, after the death of these animals and humans, it could also serve as their burial place.

[9]
The Creation of Mountains and Their Benefits:

From this verse and many other verses, it is understood that the creation of the earth is a separate matter and the creation of mountains is another. Mountains were not created along with the earth, but rather afterwards. The greatest benefit of the creation of mountains mentioned is that when the earth was created, due to its rapid movement, it would shake, sway, and rock. It was not suitable for humans or animals to live on. Allah Almighty created ranges of mountains at such places on the earth and with such balance and proportion that the tilting and rocking of the earth ceased, and it became suitable for the habitation and settlement of living beings. This is the fundamental benefit of mountains; besides this, the Quran mentions many other secondary benefits of mountains throughout. This also indicates the perfect power of Allah. Even disbelievers acknowledge this power of Allah Almighty. But they deny the power that He can resurrect humans? How astonishing!

Same Water and Climate, Different Plants:

That is, the piece of land is the same. The water is the same, the climate and season are also the same, but in some places, plants grow whose fruits are sweet, some are bitter, and some are astringent. In some places, grains and crops grow. In some places, trees grow, some of which bear fruit and some are thorny. And in some places, colorful, beautiful, and fragrant flowers grow. When these things reach their peak, they present a wondrous scene and a marvelous spring. Do these things not bear witness to the astonishing perfect power of Allah Almighty? Then can it not be accepted that Allah Almighty has enough power to gather your scattered particles from the earth and resurrect you again?
