Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

(Ayah 12 to 14) ➊ { كَذَّبَتْ قَبْلَهُمْ قَوْمُ نُوْحٍ … :} That is, these people who deny you are not the first to have denied one of Our messengers; rather, many nations before have denied Our messengers and became targets of Our punishment. In this, there is comfort for the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) and a warning for those who deny him. The mention of most of the nations mentioned in the verse has already occurred at several places. The mention of the People of the Well is in Surah Al-Furqan (38), the People of the Thicket in Surah Al-Hijr (78) and Surah Ash-Shu'ara (176), and the people of Tubba' in Surah Ad-Dukhan (37).
{ كُلٌّ كَذَّبَ الرُّسُلَ:} All these nations denied all the messengers, because none of them were willing to accept a human like themselves as a messenger, nor to believe in being resurrected and presented before Allah Almighty. Therefore, each of them was considered as one who denied all the messengers.
{ فَحَقَّ وَعِيْدِ: ’’ وَعِيْدِ ‘‘} Originally it is {’’وَعِيْدِيْ‘‘}. For the sake of correspondence with the endings of the verses, the ya was omitted; the kasrah on the dal is evidence of the omission of the ya, otherwise, due to being the subject of {’’حَقَّ‘‘}, the dal of {’’ وَعِيْدِ ‘‘} should have had a dammah.

Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. This tafsir explains the meanings of the Quran in accordance with the methodology of the Salaf (early righteous generations), relying on authentic sources and straightforward language. Due to its reliability and adherence to sound Islamic scholarship, the Saudi government publishes and distributes this tafsir among the Hujjaj (pilgrims) visiting the Haramain. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

12. 1. There is much disagreement among the commentators regarding the identification of the People of the Well (Ashab ar-Rass). Imam Ibn Jarir Tabari has given preference to the opinion in which they are considered the People of the Ditch (Ashab al-Ukhdud), who are mentioned in Surah Al-Buruj. (For details, see Ibn Kathir and Fath al-Qadir, (And 'Ad and Thamud and the companions of ar-Rass and many generations between them) 25. Al-Furqan:38)
