Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
(Ayah 11){ وَاَحْيَيْنَابِهٖبَلْدَةًمَّيْتًاكَذٰلِكَالْخُرُوْجُ:} That is, what is so astonishing about being resurrected after death? Do you not see with your own eyes that a land becomes barren due to lack of rain, as if there are no signs of life in it, then suddenly it rains and crops begin to flourish in it and trees grow, as if it comes back to life after death. In the same way, you will be resurrected after death.

This tafsir explains the meanings of the Quran in accordance with the methodology of the Salaf (early righteous generations), relying on authentic sources and straightforward language. Due to its reliability and adherence to sound Islamic scholarship, the Saudi government publishes and distributes this tafsir among the Hujjaj (pilgrims) visiting the Haramain. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
11. 1. That is, just as We revive the dead earth with rain, in the same way, on the Day of Resurrection, We will bring forth humans alive from their graves.

This is provision for the servants [12], and with this water We give life to a dead land. Thus will be your coming forth (from the earth) [13].
[12] From this manifestation of perfect power, firstly, there is evidence for life after death. Secondly, the grains from these crops and the fruits from these trees, which provide sustenance, become the cause for the survival of all humans and living beings. This is the second proof of Allah Almighty’s power: how He arranges the provision for all His creations.
[13] Evidence for Resurrection from the Growth of Plants:
The mountains of Arabia, especially those around Makkah and its surroundings, are extremely dry mountains where no greenery is visible. There is intense heat, and there are some areas where it does not rain for many years. But when it does rain, even there, some greenery grows. Grass sprouts, and insects of the earth are also produced. In the plains, it can be assumed that perhaps the roots of last year’s grass have remained to some extent, or some ground insect might have survived by taking refuge in some shelter, and with the rain, its species began to flourish, or a seed of some tree might have remained in the ground with a spark of life, and upon rain, it sprouted. But in such areas that are extremely hot and rocky, there is no question of any seed or ground insect surviving until the next rainy season. And the question that arises is: after all, where do the insects of the earth or plants come from in such areas? Then, if Allah Almighty can bring forth these things from the earth even without the seeds of plants and insects of the earth, then surely He can also resurrect and bring forth from the earth those humans who died thousands of years ago and have mingled with the soil.
