Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

(Ayah 61) ➊ {وَ اِذَا جَآءُوْكُمْ قَالُوْۤا اٰمَنَّا ……:} By this are meant those hypocrites among the Jews who lived in Medina and its surrounding areas. (Kabir)
{وَ اللّٰهُ اَعْلَمُ بِمَا كَانُوْا يَكْتُمُوْنَ:} That is, their hearts are filled with intense malice and envy towards the Muslims. Otherwise, if they had not come to you harboring disbelief in their hearts, then surely the gathering of the Prophet (peace be upon him) and the Muslims would have had some effect on them, and there would have been some decrease in their disbelief. But even when they left, they returned with as much or even more disbelief than they had brought with them.

Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. This tafsir explains the meanings of the Quran in accordance with the methodology of the Salaf (early righteous generations), relying on authentic sources and straightforward language. Due to its reliability and adherence to sound Islamic scholarship, the Saudi government publishes and distributes this tafsir among the Hujjaj (pilgrims) visiting the Haramain. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

61. 1 This is a mention of the hypocrites who come to the presence of the Prophet with disbelief and return with the same disbelief. The company of the Prophet ﷺ and his admonition and advice have no effect on them. Because disbelief is hidden in their hearts. And the purpose of being present in the service of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ is not to attain guidance, but rather to deceive and trick, so what benefit can be gained from such presence?

Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

61. And when they come to you, they say, "We believe," but in fact they entered with disbelief and they left with it [103]. And Allah knows well what they conceal.

[103] Some among the Jews would come to your ﷺ gathering, and after listening to the admonition and advice, they would hypocritically agree and claim to have embraced Islam, even though this too was done only to deceive and trick the Muslims. Faith did not enter their hearts even for a moment; just as they came concealing disbelief in their hearts, so too did they depart carrying disbelief with them. And Allah Almighty would inform the Muslims of every one of their schemes.
